NAPLES — A tractor-trailer driver avoided injury after his vehicle went off the road and came to rest against a telephone pole on Roosevelt Trail, authorities said Wednesday.

The incident occurred Tuesday around 7:52 p.m. when Darren Teryan of Belleville, Ontario, misjudged the shoulder while driving east on Route 302, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The truck flipped onto its side before stopping against the pole.

Deputies responded to the scene near the intersection of Roosevelt Trail and Casco Road.

They were able to extract Teryan from the vehicle, and he was found to be unharmed.

The accident required a temporary road closure while COPP Motors worked to remove the tractor-trailer from the site.

The Sheriff’s Office acknowledged the Naples Fire and Rescue for their aid during the incident.
