Norwalk police seek witnesses after armed carjacking, vehicle recovered

NORWALK — Police in Norwalk are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred early on the morning of March 28, where two suspects reportedly stole a BMW X3 from the owner at gunpoint.

The incident began around 5:02 a.m. when Norwalk Combined Dispatch received an emergency call about the carjacking on Westport Avenue.

According to authorities, after taking the BMW, the suspects fled the scene and attempted to carjack another vehicle at the intersection of Dry Hill Road and Westport Avenue.

The second driver, however, managed to escape the suspects by maneuvering past them.

Earlier today, officers from the Patrol Division located and recovered the carjacked BMW.

Detectives are now actively pursuing leads in the case and have appealed for witnesses to come forward with any information that could help identify and apprehend the suspects.

Detective James Barron is the lead investigator on the case.
