BLOOMFIELD — A significant narcotics trafficking and fraud operation was dismantled on March 27 after an extensive investigation by the Bloomfield Police Department Detective Unit, in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Connecticut State Police Statewide Firearms Trafficking Task Force, and Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force.

During a coordinated operation, State and Federal search and seizure warrants were executed at the Spark Apartments, resulting in the confiscation of four and a half pounds of cocaine, $16,700 in cash, fraudulent documents, and other items critical to the investigation.

Brandon Tyson, born June 26, 1995, and a convicted felon, was apprehended and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute, and tampering with evidence.

Tyson was also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for second-degree threatening related to a separate incident.

He was arraigned at Hartford Superior Court on March 28.

Additionally, John Drummond, born Sept. 4, 1982, also a convicted felon and resident of Deermeadow Drive in Bloomfield, was arrested on an outstanding warrant linked to a different narcotics inquiry.
