MORGAN — An 81-year-old resident of Morgan, David Gray, avoided injury after his vehicle veered off VT RT 111 and struck a tree earlier this month.

State Police reported to the scene on March 3, following a call about a single-vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, they discovered that Gray, who was wearing a seatbelt, had lost control of his 2018 GMC pickup while driving westbound.

Newport Ambulance service responded and assessed Gray at the scene.

Despite the front-end damage to his vehicle, Gray did not sustain any injuries and refused transport to the hospital.

The road was temporarily closed for vehicle removal but has since been reopened.

The weather was clear and road conditions were dry at the time of the incident.
