HUNTINGTON — A Rutland City man was cited for leaving the scene of a crash after his vehicle slammed into a utility pole in Huntington.

The incident occurred on March 15 at approximately 10:02 p.m., when Vermont State Police responded to reports of a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Main Road and Raven Ridge Road.

Authorities determined that Joshua Rheaume, 48, had been driving a 2018 Nissan Frontier northbound on Main Road when he lost control and collided with a utility pole.

The crash resulted in total damage to the vehicle and necessitated the replacement of the pole, owned by Green Mountain Power in Colchester.

Rheaume had left the crash site without reporting the incident to police or the utility company.

He was later identified and located by investigators.

Rheaume is scheduled to appear before the Chittenden County Superior Court on May 9 at 8:15 a.m. to face charges for leaving the scene of an accident.
