PAWTUCKET — A bomb threat called into Jenks Middle School at 350 Division Street led to a rapid response by Pawtucket police and K-9 units at approximately 11:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers conducted a thorough sweep of the school premises while detectives worked to ascertain the credibility of the threat.

Their investigation revealed that the call was part of a series of swatting incidents, a hoax practice that has affected various states across the country.

Authorities have since deemed the threat to be not credible.

Students, staff, and school property were confirmed safe following the police assessment.

The Pawtucket Police Department is continuing its investigation into the source of the call and any potential connections to the broader pattern of swatting incidents.
