Hamden police detain juveniles following knife incident at local school

HAMDEN — Police detained two juveniles Tuesday after a reported attempted stabbing at Aces Academy on Leader Hill Drive.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 12:45 p.m. after receiving reports that one or two students, armed with a knife, were attempting to stab other students.

The Hamden Police Department quickly secured the area and took two individuals into custody.

No injuries have been reported in the incident, and police are continuing their investigation.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the juveniles or any details on the circumstances leading up to the incident.

The school was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure, but it has since been lifted.

Parents and guardians were notified of the situation and students were released to their families following a thorough security sweep.
