NEW HAVEN — State police are seeking witnesses to a series of carjacking incidents that occurred early Wednesday morning along Interstate 95.

At 4:27 a.m., Troop G-Bridgeport troopers responded to the northbound rest area in Darien for an attempted carjacking.

A male victim reported an older white sedan pulled up behind his Audi.

Two young males exited, one assaulting the victim while trying to pull him away from his car.

The victim resisted, and both suspects eventually fled without the vehicle.

An hour later, another attempted armed carjacking was reported at the southbound rest area in Milford, where a masked individual brandishing a firearm approached a man fueling his car.

The victim sprayed the suspect with gasoline, causing the assailant to retreat in a black sedan.

Shortly after, at 5:38 a.m., a successful armed carjacking occurred in the northbound rest area in Milford.

A female victim was robbed of her Acura RDX at gunpoint by a masked individual, with two accomplices also in masks joining the suspect.

Troopers discovered an abandoned and running Kia Forte at the scene, later identified as stolen from Hamden.

Later in the morning, the stolen Acura was involved in a crash in Hamden.

The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled in a Hyundai SUV.

The Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad is investigating all three incidents.
