WINDSOR LOCKS — Police in Windsor Locks are on the hunt for a man accused of a domestic assault that left a woman injured and a kitten dead.

Kevin Colgan, 44, with no fixed address, faces charges including two counts each of third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, and cruelty to animals, authorities announced Tuesday.

The search began after a distress call on Saturday from a woman claiming to be assaulted by her boyfriend, Colgan.

She reported that he punched her in the face and throat and threatened the lives of her kittens.

During the altercation, Colgan grabbed one of the kittens and fatally threw it against an air compressor, according to the police.

The day prior, Colgan allegedly head-butted the woman, punched her, and tossed another kitten across the room.

The woman sustained facial injuries but refused medical care, the police report stated.

Previous assaults have gone unreported or were falsely attributed to other individuals due to the victim’s fear, the report added.

Colgan is known to spend time in Hartford, CT.

Windsor Locks Police Department urges anyone with information on Colgan’s whereabouts to contact them at 860-627-1461.
