Weare police warn public regarding possible scam involving propane company

WEARE — A man posing as a propane company affiliate approached a homeowner on Dudley Brook Road at approximately 1 p.m. this afternoon, sparking concerns and a subsequent search by the Weare Police Department.

According to the police, the individual drove a brown or tan SUV and claimed to be associated with a local propane company.

The homeowner, suspicious of the man’s claims, later contacted authorities, prompting an investigation in the area.

Despite efforts to locate the vehicle, police were unable to find the SUV or the man in question.

The Weare Police Department is now seeking to identify and speak with the individual to verify his claims and address the concerns raised by the resident.

Authorities are reaching out to the community, asking residents in the vicinity to review their surveillance footage for any signs of the described vehicle.

Captain Hebert of the Weare Police Department emphasized that any assistance from the public is entirely voluntary but could prove crucial in their inquiry.
