REVERE — A six-month investigation by the Massachusetts State Police – High Risk Victims Unit, Revere Police – Special Investigations Unit, and the FBI Human Trafficking Task Force led to the arrest of a 64-year-old woman on charges of human trafficking.

Detectives executed a search warrant on March 19 at an apartment on 50 Nahant Ave, #1, where they arrested Xiu Ying Zhang of Revere.

An adult victim, a Chinese national, was found at the location.

The victim had reportedly been smuggled into the United States through Mexico.

Zhang was arraigned and held on $500,000 bail.

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office – Human Trafficking Unit is set to prosecute the case.

If convicted, Zhang faces a minimum mandatory prison sentence of five years under Massachusetts law.
