Milton man charged in attempted armed home invasion

MILTON — A violent altercation at a Milton home on Monday led to the arrest of a St. Albans man on multiple charges, including burglary and aggravated assault.

According to the Milton Police Department, officers were dispatched to 57 Cornelia Court at around 12:38 p.m. following reports of an attempted home invasion with a firearm and a fight in progress.

Upon arrival, they found the individuals involved behind the residence.

Authorities identified the suspect as 37-year-old Quentin Suggs of St. Albans, who had sustained multiple injuries during the incident.

Suggs was taken by Milton Rescue to the UVM Medical Center for treatment.

The investigation revealed that Suggs attempted to break into the home while armed with a firearm.

A confrontation ensued between Suggs and the occupants, leading to Suggs being overpowered and detained until law enforcement arrived.

Suggs is facing charges of burglary, aggravated assault, and being a person prohibited from possessing firearms.

He was ordered held without bail and remains in the custody of the Department of Corrections, hospitalized at the UVM Medical Center as he receives treatment for his injuries.
