Man faces charges after drug and weapons bust in Clinton

CLINTON — In a significant narcotics operation, Victor Benzan was arrested on March 22 after a joint task force involving the Clinton Police Drug Unit, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration’s HIDTA Task Force, and the North Worcester County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant obtained from Fitchburg District Court.

Benzan, a resident of 436 Water Street in Fitchburg, has been charged with trafficking in fentanyl and cocaine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a loaded machine gun, possession of a large capacity weapon feeding device, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.

According to authorities, Benzan was identified as a key fentanyl distributor with operations based in Fitchburg.

The search yielded 837 grams of fentanyl, 69 grams of cocaine/crack, and several doses of methamphetamine pills, with the narcotics valued at approximately $90,650.

Law enforcement also confiscated $4,743 in cash, a money counter, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

A notable find during the investigation was a modified Glock 19 9mm handgun, altered for full automatic fire, which was located in proximity to the drugs.
