FARMINGTON — A rollover crash involving a propane delivery truck disrupted traffic for more than three hours today, but resulted in no injuries, authorities said.

At around noon, Farmington Police Department and Farmington Fire Department were dispatched to the scene on Route 2 (Wilton Road) after a propane truck, operated by Zachary Mitchell of Phillips, overturned while trying to avoid a Chevrolet pickup truck.

The pickup, driven by Scott McAuley of Wilton, had reportedly failed to yield while turning from Red Schoolhouse Road onto Route 2.

The propane truck, belonging to Fabian Oil of Oakland, was the only vehicle damaged in the incident.

A minor propane leak was detected and quickly contained by the emergency responders.

Traffic was diverted around the crash site as crews worked to secure the area and clear the roadway.

The Farmington Police Department extended thanks to the Wilton Fire Department and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with traffic control, and to motorists for their patience during the incident.

The roadway has since been reopened and normal traffic flow has resumed.
