Mexico, Maine police warn of thefts from unlocked vehicles, urge vigilance

MEXICO — In response to a recent wave of petty thefts, the Mexico Police Department issued a community alert Wednesday urging residents and local businesses to secure their vehicles and properties.

Authorities have reported a series of thefts involving items taken from unlocked vehicles, porches, garages, and yards.

The police are asking community members to be extra cautious, ensure valuables are not visible, and lock all vehicles and property to prevent further incidents.

The department has advised individuals to be on the lookout for any suspicious behavior around vehicles or properties.

In case of an emergency, the police emphasized that 911 should be called immediately.
