MILO — Police Chief Damien Clukey responded to a call about an unconscious male behind the wheel of a vehicle on Elm Street around 7:14 a.m. Wednesday.

Upon arrival, Chief Clukey discovered the vehicle stopped in the travel lane with the operator, identified as Emilio Fontanez Jr., 61, of Yonkers, New York, asleep with the car in gear and his foot on the brake.

After securing the vehicle by putting it in park and turning it off, Clukey awakened Fontanez, who appeared disoriented and claimed he was at home.

During the interaction, Clukey observed several small pieces of tin foil in the vehicle, a common sign of drug use.

Fontanez was evaluated by EMS and subsequently arrested after being medically cleared.

He was charged with Criminal Operating Under the Influence (OUI).

Further investigation led to the discovery of $4,950 in cash and 32 individual wax paper envelopes containing heroin, totaling approximately 3.2 grams, packaged for distribution and sale.

Fontanez faces additional charges for Illegal Trafficking of Schedule W drugs.
