MONTPELIER — A Hyde Park man was arrested early Thursday morning after allegedly strangling and restraining his partner during a domestic dispute, according to the Montpelier Police Department.

Zane Davison, 29, was taken into custody after police responded to a domestic assault complaint at 1:10 a.m. at a residence on Elm Street.

The victim reported that Davison had strangled and unlawfully restrained them, and attempted to block them from calling for police assistance.

Following his arrest, Davison was processed at the Montpelier Police Department.

A Vermont Superior Court judge set his bail at $1,000.

Unable to post bail, Davison was lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility in St. Johnsbury.

Later that day, Davison was arraigned in Washington County Superior Court, facing charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, first-degree unlawful restraint, and interference with access to emergency services.
