SHELDON — Two drivers were taken to the hospital following a head-on collision on RT 105 near Machia Rd. intersection on March 21.

At about 9:46 a.m., Vermont State Police responded to an accident involving two vehicles.

Amy Dallier, 42, of Enosburg, was driving her 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe eastbound when she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing her to veer into the opposing lane and crash into a 2004 Nissan Frontier driven by J Brian Whitehouse, 61, of Enosburg Falls.

Both Dallier, who was wearing a seat belt, and Whitehouse, who was not, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Northwest Medical Center for treatment.

Charlene Whitehouse, 59, a passenger in the Nissan, was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have ruled out impairment as a factor in the crash.

Both vehicles were totaled and removed from the scene, with RT 105 reopening approximately one hour after the incident.
