NEW MILFORD — A joint operation by the New Milford Police Department’s Detective Bureau and Community Outreach Officer, in collaboration with the State of Connecticut Adult Probation Unit, led to the arrest of a local man for failing to comply with sex offender registry requirements.

Thomas Fogell, born on Sept. 29, 1992, was taken into custody on March 20 after a series of compliance checks were conducted throughout the town.

Fogell faced an active warrant and has been charged with four counts of violating Connecticut General Statute 54-251, which mandates the registration of individuals convicted of certain offenses against minors or nonviolent sexual offenses.

Following his arrest, Fogell was released on bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Torrington Superior Court on March 28 at 10 a.m. to respond to the charges.
