Greenwich man arrested for entering local middle school

GREENWICH — A local man was arrested for trespassing at Western Middle School, authorities reported.

Miguel Valdivia, of 20 Bruce Park Ave, was taken into custody earlier today after he entered the school premises.

The Greenwich Police Department has charged Valdivia with Criminal Trespass 1, Breach of Peace, and Interfering with an Officer.

In response to the incident, Greenwich Public Schools issued a statement advising parents on discussing the day’s events with their children.

The arrest and subsequent school district’s guidance have prompted community members to engage in conversations around school safety.

The motivations behind his entry into the school are yet to be clarified by the police.
