1 min read

WILLIAMSTOWN — The Williamstown Police Department is currently leading a multi-agency search for Fae Morgana Barbone, a missing person whose vehicle was discovered at the end of Berlin Road, an isolated hiking area near the New York State border, on March 19 at approximately 9 a.m.

Barbone, who hails from the Abington/Hanson area of Massachusetts, had been reported missing several days prior to the vehicle’s discovery.

There have been unconfirmed sightings in North Adams, Massachusetts, and across the Carolinas, along with a confirmed interaction with Maine law enforcement.

Following the discovery of the vehicle, the Williamstown Police Department launched an immediate search utilizing their drone and K-9 unit.

The challenging terrain and the area’s remoteness prompted the involvement of additional agencies, including the New York State Police, Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and New York Environmental Conservation Police.

Despite extensive search efforts on the first day, Barbone was not located.

Search operations resumed at 8 a.m. this morning, with law enforcement agencies once again mobilizing in hopes of finding Barbone.

The public has been advised to avoid traveling to the end of Berlin Road due to limited parking and challenging road conditions.

Residents may notice a heightened presence of law enforcement personnel in the area as the search continues.

Chief Michael Ziemba of the Williamstown Police Department has requested that anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Fae Morgana Barbone contact their Dispatch Center at (413) 458-5733 or their local law enforcement agency.
