Tyngsboro police respond to false threat at elementary school

1 min read

TYNGSBORO — Police responded to a reported threat at Tyngsborough Elementary School on Wednesday, March 20, which was quickly determined to be non-credible, in what officials suspect may be a swatting incident.

Authorities arrived at the school following a call about a potential threat.

After a thorough investigation on the scene, officers and school officials confirmed that the threat was indeed a hoax.

No one was harmed, and the school resumed normal operations shortly after the incident was cleared.

Swatting, the act of making a false report to trigger a large emergency response, has become an increasing concern for schools and law enforcement agencies.
