PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield man was sentenced Monday to serve two decades in prison on a Class A gross sexual assault charge, officials said.

Charles Frost, 41, received a 20-year prison sentence following a complaint that was investigated in 2023 by Detective Jeremy Leal of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation led to Frost’s conviction, which now places him on Maine’s Sex Offender Registry for life.

The charges stem from an incident that authorities did not detail in their report.

Gross Sexual Assault in Maine is considered a Class A crime, which is among the most serious offenses.
