Killington man arrested for DUI after rollover crash on Roaring Brook Road

KILLINGTON — A local man was arrested for driving under the influence late Monday night after his vehicle overturned on Roaring Brook Road during a snowstorm.

John Kohn Jr, 38, of Killington, escaped injury when his 2022 Jeep Compass struck multiple trees and a well casing at a residence before rolling onto its side.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:05 p.m. near the intersection with Dean Hill Road.

According to the Vermont State Police, Kohn was wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle was totaled in the incident.

Road conditions were snow-covered at the time of the accident.

Upon responding to the scene, state troopers observed signs of impairment in Kohn’s behavior.

He was screened roadside and taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.

Kohn was processed at the Rutland Barracks and released with a citation to appear in court at a later date.

Emergency services, including Killington Fire and First Response and Regional Ambulance, assisted at the scene.
