WILBRAHAM — A high-speed police operation on Monday, March 18, led to the arrest of a 22-year-old Wilbraham man after a vehicle he was riding in contained a stolen firearm and drugs.

At around 2 p.m., the Wilbraham Regional Emergency Communications Center was alerted by the Springfield Police Department about an armed individual who had fled eastward on Boston Road.

The subject, later identified as Damien Elimiano, was reported to be without a Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms.

Officer Martowski spotted the suspect’s vehicle on Route 20 in Wilbraham approximately 20 minutes after the broadcast.

A traffic stop was successfully conducted without incident, and the vehicle’s occupants were secured.

A loaded and unsecured firearm was found in a backpack at the feet of the front passenger seat where Elimiano was seated.

The weapon was confirmed to have been stolen from Holyoke in 2022.

Elimiano has been charged with unlicensed possession of a firearm, possession of a high capacity feeding device, possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification (FID) card, improper storage of a firearm, possession of a Class B substance identified as cocaine, and receiving stolen property, specifically the firearm.

He is scheduled to be arraigned later today in Palmer District Court.
