BOSTON — A 26-year-old Chelsea woman was arrested Monday morning on charges related to a series of arson incidents in East Boston, according to authorities.

Boston police officers from District A-7 and Fire Investigations Unit members apprehended Genesis Hurtado around 10 a.m. near 31 Central Square following a tip from an onlooker who spotted someone fleeing the scene of a fire at 184 Border Street.

The Boston Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze, and no injuries were reported.

The arrest followed a Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC) alert about a person of interest linked to a previous arson event that happened at approximately 8:03 p.m. on Saturday at 210 Border Street.

Hurtado faces multiple charges, including three counts of arson and three counts of burning personal property.

She is scheduled for arraignment in East Boston District Court.
