NEW HAVEN — A man was arrested late Saturday night on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after Vermont State Police found him passed out in his vehicle.

At around 10:38 p.m., troopers investigated a suspicious vehicle on Stage Road near the intersection of US Route 7.

The operator, identified as 33-year-old Benjamin Emmons, who is homeless, was found unresponsive behind the wheel.

Upon awakening Emmons, troopers noted signs of impairment.

Emmons refused to undergo screening and was arrested on suspicion of DUI related to drug use.
