PELHAM — A single-vehicle accident led to the arrest of a Pelham woman on DUI charges early Saturday morning.

Pelham Police responded to the scene at approximately 2:48 a.m. on Hobbs Road near Windham Road.

A 2013 Hyundai Sonata, driven by 25-year-old Sarah Brown, was traveling east when it crossed the double yellow center line and the opposite lane of travel before striking a rock and coming to a halt in the brush off the road’s westbound side.

Following an investigation, police determined that Brown was impaired at the time of the crash.

She was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence.

Brown is scheduled to be arraigned at Salem District Court on March 21 at 8 a.m.

In light of the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the Pelham Police Department has urged the public to enjoy the holiday responsibly.

The department, along with law enforcement partners across New England, has dedicated officers to impaired driving interdiction patrols throughout the weekend.
