READING — Three individuals were arrested and charged with operating under the influence (OUI) in three unrelated incidents on March 9, according to Reading Police.

John Darcangelo, 33, of Reading, was taken into custody at approximately 5:49 p.m. after police responded to a reported crash on Washington Street.

Officers found two vehicles, a gray Honda and a white Jeep, with damage consistent with a collision.

A preliminary investigation indicated that Darcangelo, the driver of the Honda, rear-ended the Jeep twice.

In addition to the OUI charge, Darcangelo faces charges for negligent operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a dangerous weapon, specifically a knife.

Later in the evening, at about 8:51 p.m., Rebecca Dooley, 31, of Medford, was arrested following a failed attempt by police to stop her blue Nissan for erratic driving on Haverhill Street.

Dooley continued driving until she pulled into a gas station.

She faces multiple charges, including a second OUI (liquor) offense, operating negligently so as to endanger, a marked lanes violation, and failure to yield at an intersection.

In the early hours of the night, Yves Damas, 31, of Lowell, was arrested after his black Chevy Malibu crashed into a cement pillar at 676 Main St. around 3:50 a.m. The car had earlier hit a trash bin and a no-parking sign.

Damas has been charged with OUI (liquor), a marked lanes violation, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

The suspects were arraigned Monday in Woburn District Court.
