PUTNEY — A New York man was taken into custody after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of an active warrant for his arrest, Vermont State Police said.

Alex Boulet, 41, of Staten Island, was pulled over on Interstate 91 for a moving violation Wednesday evening.

During the stop, which occurred at 7:12 p.m., a trooper from the Westminster barracks identified Boulet and found that he had an outstanding warrant in Vermont.

Boulet was subsequently lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility with bail set at $500.

He was issued a citation to appear before the Vermont Superior Court, Chittenden Criminal Division, on March 15 at 8:30 a.m.
