Police investigate threat against students at Mill River Union High School

CLARENDON — The Vermont State Police assisted the Rutland County Sheriff’s Department in investigating a possible threat targeting several students at Mill River Union High School in Clarendon on Wednesday evening, March 13.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., investigators identified the individuals involved and spoke with relevant parties and school officials.

Police contacted the person who made the threat via a social media messaging application and have taken steps to address and mitigate the threat.

The Vermont State Police and Rutland County Sheriff’s Department coordinated with the Rutland County State’s Attorney’s Office on this matter.

Classes and other school functions are proceeding as normal on Thursday, March 14.

Due to the age of the individuals involved, no additional information is available at this time.
