Alburgh credit union robbed, suspect sought

ALBURGH — The Grand Isle County Sheriff’s Department and assisting agencies are investigating a robbery that occurred at the North Country Federal Credit Union in Alburgh on Thursday, March 14.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to 37 S Main St., where employees reported that the credit union had just been robbed.

Members from the Vermont State Police, Vermont Fish & Wildlife, U.S. Border Patrol, and Swanton Police Department responded to assist with the case.

According to employees, a male suspect entered the credit union wearing a winter hat, hoodie, and a mask covering his face.

He handed a note to the teller and left the credit union on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’10” to 6′ tall, with a slender build.

A picture of the suspect has been released by authorities.
