Woman arrested for DUI after crash in Whitingham

WHITINGHAM — A single-vehicle crash on School Street led to the arrest of a Wilmington woman on charges of driving under the influence of drugs, Vermont State Police said.

Heather Axman, 45, was operating a 2005 Acura MDX when she crashed on March 10 at about 3:37 p.m.

Troopers from the Westminster Barracks responded to the scene in the town of Whitingham, Windham County.

An investigation by the authorities determined that Axman was impaired at the time of the accident.

She was subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI – Drugs and was processed at the Wilmington Police Department.

Axman has been released with a criminal citation and is expected to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on April 30 at 8:30 a.m. to respond to the charge.
