OXFORD — Detectives from the Auburn Police Department informed the Oxford Police on Saturday about a shooting incident that took place earlier that evening at Boulder Industrial Park, near RJH Concrete Co.

The victim, a 21-year-old male, suffered a single gunshot wound to the neck area and was treated at a local hospital before being released.

Oxford Police assumed the investigation and identified the suspect as 29-year-old Christopher Tetreault of Southbridge, Massachusetts.

According to witness statements, Tetreault had a confrontation with the victim and his friends, which escalated into a physical altercation before Tetreault shot the victim.

The victim managed to flee the scene and seek medical attention.

All individuals involved were acquainted with each other, and authorities have stated the incident was isolated with no further threat to the public.

Early the next morning, Tetreault’s vehicle was located in Warren, Massachusetts, parked near a relative’s home.

Tetreault and the relative were taken into custody by officers from Warren, West Brookfield, and the Massachusetts State Police.

While Tetreault’s relative faced separate charges from the Warren Police, Tetreault was charged with assault to murder and assault and battery with a firearm.

Tetreault was transported to Oxford PD for booking and was held on $50,000 cash bail.

He was arraigned at Dudley District Court.
