Fire, police respond to explosion, extinguish Hudson blaze

HUDSON — Fire Chief Jamie Desautels and Police Chief Richard DiPersio confirmed that the Hudson Fire and Police Departments responded to a report of an explosion and subsequent structure fire at a commercial building on Monday, March 11.

At approximately 11:35 a.m., authorities were alerted to an incident at 106 Forest Ave, where an explosion had caused a fire, resulting in one injury.

Crews arriving at the scene witnessed flames and heavy smoke emanating from the building, prompting Hudson Fire to issue a full department recall, bringing all off-duty members to the scene.

One individual was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Officials have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to community safety.

The cause of the explosion and fire is currently under investigation by the Hudson Fire Department, the State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the District 14 Fire Investigation Team.
