Moultonborough police officer involved in single-vehicle crash

MOULTONBOROUGH — A Moultonborough Police officer was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Whittier Highway (Route 25) at the intersection of Sheridan Road on Saturday, March 9.

At approximately 2:33 p.m., Officer Andrew Strickland was traveling eastbound on Whittier Highway when his cruiser left the southerly side of the roadway, went down an embankment, across a brook, and struck another embankment before rolling over onto the passenger’s side.

Officer Strickland was initially trapped inside the cruiser but was assisted out by numerous witnesses.

He sustained minor injuries and was transported by Stewart’s Ambulance to Concord Hospital-Laconia, where he was treated and released.

New Hampshire State Police Troop E is investigating the cause of the crash.

The Moultonborough Police Department expressed gratitude to the citizens who came to the officer’s aid.
