Two cars collide at intersection in Fairlee

FAIRLEE — On March 7 at approximately 9:52 a.m., troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to a reported two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US Route 5 and Bridge St.

Troopers determined that Jonathan Armstrong, 50, of Montpelier, was attempting to make a left turn onto Bridge St from US Route 5 when he struck a vehicle operated by Martin Murphy, 66, of Orford, New Hampshire.

Murphy was stationary on Bridge St, about to turn south onto US Route 5.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Armstrong was operating a 2013 Audi Q5, while Murphy was driving a 2019 Toyota Corolla.

Both vehicles sustained front-end damage.

Troopers were assisted by the Fairlee Fire Department and Upper Valley Ambulance.

The crash occurred during rainy conditions on a wet blacktop road.
