Springfield police warn of fraudulent door-to-door contractors this spring

1 min read

SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Police Department is warning residents as spring approaches of fraudulent door-to-door contractors.

These individuals often begin a job and never finish it, and are known to finish a job for one neighbor and then sign contracts with their neighbors without completing those jobs.

They also routinely ask for more money during the job.

The police department urges residents to only hire reputable contractors and to check them out on the Better Business Bureau website.

If a contractor comes to your door, make sure they have a city-issued lanyard.

If they do not, please call the police.
