Man arrested for vehicle theft, other charges in Brattleboro

BRATTLEBORO — A man was arrested on multiple charges including vehicle theft and possession of stolen property after police made contact with him in a hotel parking lot on March 8.

Bryan Wainwright, 34, was found operating a stolen BMW Z3 in the Quality Inn parking lot at approximately 8:19 a.m.

Police determined that Wainwright was driving with a suspended license and had violated an active trespass order at the hotel.

Upon his arrest, Wainwright was found to be in possession of several stolen credit and debit cards taken from vehicles in Putney and Brattleboro.

He had also violated several court-ordered conditions of release from previous arrests.

A passenger in the vehicle, Meagan Morse, was arrested on an extraditable warrant from New Hampshire.

She was held on $10,000 bail pending an appearance in Windham County Superior Court at 1 p.m. the same day.

Wainwright was charged with operating without the consent of the owner, driving with a suspended license, grand larceny, possession of stolen property, criminal contempt, and unlawful trespass.

He was held on $25,000 bail pending a court appearance at 1 p.m. on March 8.
