BRIGHTON — Police arrested two individuals on firearm and drug charges Thursday after observing an alleged drug transaction and conducting a traffic stop.

Officers from the Drug Control Unit of District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) arrested Jailyn Jiminian, 25, of Roxbury, and Jeanette Guzman, 28, of Quincy, at about 3:54 p.m. on March 7.

Police were conducting a firearm and drug investigation near 120 Antwerp Street when they observed a man exit an apartment building, enter a vehicle briefly, and return to the apartment.

Suspecting a drug transaction had occurred, officers followed the vehicle as it traveled towards Soldiers Field Road at a high speed, weaving through multiple lanes.

With assistance from Massachusetts State Police, officers stopped the vehicle on Storrow Drive near the Copley Square exit.

Upon further investigation, police recovered a firearm and multiple packages of marijuana from inside the vehicle.

The firearm was identified as a Polymer 80 with eleven rounds in the magazine.

Jiminian and Guzman were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, and possession with intent to distribute class D.

They are expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court.
