BOSTON — Jaraiel Wiggins, 23, of Mattapan, was arrested on firearm-related charges following a foot pursuit in the Corbet Street and Evans Street area on Wednesday, March 6 at about 10:27 a.m.
Officers conducting an ongoing firearm investigation approached Wiggins, who fled on foot.
He was apprehended in the area of 50 Corbet Street, where officers recovered a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine.
Wiggins faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and trespassing.
He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
