CHICOPEE — Chicopee Police reported on Mar. 2 that a 13-year-old juvenile who had gone missing was safely located and reunited with family after a multi-state incident involving a 30-year-old Florida man.
The initial missing person report prompted an investigation that revealed the juvenile had been in communication with the adult male.
The man allegedly drove from Florida to Massachusetts and took the teen from Chicopee in the middle of the night to a local hotel.
Authorities located the juvenile at the hotel with the suspect.
Following the rescue, the suspect was arrested and is now facing several serious felony charges.
Due to the ongoing investigation and the sensitive nature of the incident, police are unable to release further details regarding the identities of those involved or the specific charges levied against the suspect.
