ARLINGTON — Troopers from the Shaftsbury Barracks responded late Friday night to a reported family disturbance on East Arlington Road.

Gilmore, 50, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with domestic assault after an investigation revealed that he caused pain to a 75-year-old family member, also from Arlington.
The Vermont State Police, adhering to their policy, did not release the name of the victim.
Gilmore was taken into custody at the scene and later released with conditions.
He is scheduled to appear in Bennington Superior Court on Monday at 12:30 p.m. for further proceedings related to the charges.
