Warwick police seek hit-and-run driver who snapped utility pole

WARWICK — Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that left a utility pole snapped off at the base last night in the area of 100 Old Winchester Road.

According to the Warwick Police Department, a vehicle, identified as a Honda product, struck the pole and continued to travel north on Old Winchester Road after the collision.

The incident has prompted a search for the blue vehicle, which is expected to have sustained heavy front-end damage.

Residents living on Old Winchester Road and Robbins Road are being urged by authorities to review any security camera footage that may help in identifying the vehicle or the direction it traveled after the accident.

The Warwick Police Department has not yet provided information on whether there were any outages or injuries as a result of the damaged utility pole.

They are asking anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
