Concord firefighters extinguish house fire on Independence Road

CONCORD — The Concord Fire Department extinguished a fire at a home on Independence Road on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to 115 Independence Road at 1:20 p.m. after a fire was reported.

The single resident had already evacuated the house and no injuries were reported.

Crews found smoke inside the house and located a fire within a second-floor bedroom wall.

The fire was quickly extinguished and declared under control at approximately 2 p.m. Damage was limited to the interior wall.

Firefighters from Bedford, Lexington, Lincoln, and Weston assisted at the scene, along with PROEMS. Acton and Maynard provided station coverage.

The Concord Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
