Rutland man charged with aggravated domestic assault

RUTLAND — A local man was arrested early Thursday morning after Vermont State Police responded to a reported family fight at the Cortina Inn.

Trooper Ryan Gardner of the VSP Rutland Barracks said Joshua Lewis, 31, is accused of causing pain and injury to a household member.

The incident occurred on March 1, at around 3:58 a.m.

Following their investigation, troopers charged Lewis with second degree aggravated domestic assault.

He is scheduled to appear before the Rutland County Superior Court, Criminal Division, today at 12:30 p.m.

The Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim in accordance with their policy on cases of sexual assault and domestic violence.
