BOSTON — Officers arrested 21-year-old Anton Nathaniel Clark of Mattapan on Thursday around 5 p.m. on firearm-related charges during a routine patrol in the Grove Hall/MECCA area.

The patrol, which was part of an effort to address community complaints, led officers to approach a vehicle where they spoke with the passenger, later identified as Clark.

Upon learning that he had an active warrant, officers removed Clark from the vehicle and placed him under arrest.

A search of Clark revealed a loaded Jimenez Arms Inc Model J.A. 22 firearm in his front left jacket pocket, with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine.

Clark now faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

He is expected to be arraigned at Dorchester District Court.
