Northfield man charged with domestic assault in Randolph

RANDOLPH — Vermont State Police arrested a Northfield man early Thursday morning on charges of domestic assault and interference with access to emergency services following an incident in Randolph.

Michael R. Cantalupo, 50, was taken into custody after troopers responded to a report of a domestic assault at a residence on Crab Apple Rd.

Upon arrival, troopers found probable cause to arrest Cantalupo for the alleged crimes.

The Vermont State Police, adhering to their policy, did not release the name of the victim, who is protected under privacy laws concerning victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Cantalupo has been cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court Orange County Criminal Division on Monday, March 4, at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charges.

The outcome of the court proceedings will determine the next steps in the legal process.
