Great Barrington man arrested on sexual assault charges

GREAT BARRINGTON — The Great Barrington Police Department announced the arrest of 20-year-old Mynor Stiven Munoz De Paz on Feb. 29 following an investigation into a sexual assault reported to have occurred last year.

The investigation, led by Great Barrington Police Investigator Joseph O’Brien, stemmed from an incident reported on Sept. 30.

With the support of the Sheffield Police, Munoz De Paz was taken into custody without incident.

Munoz De Paz faces serious charges including rape of a child under 16 with force, statutory rape, and indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 years of age.

Following his arrest, Munoz De Paz was processed at the Great Barrington Police Station and posted bail set at $8,000.

He is scheduled for arraignment in Great Barrington District Court on Monday, March 4.
