Pedestrian struck in Quincy hit-and-run, police seek information

QUINCY — A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Quincy Point on Tuesday evening, prompting an urgent search for the dark-colored SUV involved in the incident.

Quincy Police Department reported multiple 911 calls around 6 p.m. regarding a collision at 1020 Southern Artery where a pedestrian was struck while attempting to cross the street in a crosswalk.

The suspect vehicle, described as a mid-size SUV with likely damage to the passenger side bumper, hood, and windshield, was last seen heading northbound on Southern Artery toward South Street.

Following the accident, first responders from Quincy Police, Fire Department, and Brewster EMS arrived at the scene, and the victim was quickly transported to a local hospital.

The current condition of the pedestrian has not been disclosed.

Authorities have initiated an investigation, with the Traffic Unit and crash reconstruction experts gathering evidence.
